Dr. Muhammed Oyeniyi Rasheed is a seasoned public health physician with over 19 years of progressive experience in infectious disease control, program management, and health system strengthening. He currently serves as the Deputy Director and Program Manager for AIDS, STI, Hepatitis Control, and IPC Focal Person at the Kwara State Ministry of Health, where he leads statewide coordination, partner engagement, surveillance, outreach, and capacity-building activities.
He previously managed the Tuberculosis, Leprosy, and Buruli Ulcer Control Program for several years, contributing significantly to case finding, treatment support, data reporting, and health worker training. His extensive clinical background includes roles in maternal health, HIV/PMTCT, general practice, and hospital administration across multiple health facilities.
Dr. Rasheed holds advanced degrees, including FWACP (Comm. Health), a master's in public health, a master's in health planning and management, and a professional diploma in infection prevention and control (ongoing). He has authored several research works on tuberculosis, COVID-19 preparedness, antimicrobial resistance, and public health systems and has attended major national and international conferences. Dr. Muhammed Oyeniyi is happily married and blessed with children.
He is recognized for strong leadership, data-driven decision-making, stakeholder coordination, mentoring, and program implementation and has received awards including NYSC State Best Corper (2006) and commendation for increasing TB case notification in Kwara State.
